Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2021 results: DMK set to return to power after 10 years

As the votes polled in April 6, 2021, Assembly Elections are counted, the DMK has won two seats and leading in 122 segments. Its allies are leading in 24.

The AIADMK has won two and is ahead in 74 more. Its alliance partners PMK and BJP are leading in 6 and 3 seats respectively, according to trends made available by the Election Commission for 234 segments till 6.25 p.m.

Victory in 118 of the total 234 constituencies will ensure an absolute majority.

A key pointer in the trends available so far is that the AIADMK continued as a force to be reckoned with despite the burden of a 10-year anti-incumbency.

Various exit polls had predicted a landslide for the DMK and together with its allies, upto a maximum of 200 seats.
